Final date to start using Single Touch Payroll approaching

The due date for employers with related party employees to start using STP to report wages each pay period is the 1st of July 2021. Related employees include family members, directors or beneficiaries.

Previously employers have not been required to report related party employees using STP as they had been given a concession. Before the 1st of July, if you are an employer who is not already set up for Single Touch Payroll, you'll need to get set up on accounting software such as Xero to be able to report your wages to the ATO each pay period. We can assist you with this process.

You will have the choice of reporting actual payments or reporting a reasonable estimate each quarter.
