New Energy Efficiency Grant Available for SA Small Businesses
Applications are now open for Small businesses in South Australia to apply for a grant of up to 50% of the cost of energy efficient equipment or solutions. Grants are available for amounts of between $2,500 to $50,000.
Am I Eligible?
To be eligible a business must:
- have a valid and active ABN
- be registered for GST (not-for-profit organisations not registered for GST will need to provide their most recent lodged tax return confirming an annual turnover of greater than $75,000)
- be located and operating in South Australia, and be a small business electricity customer on a separately metered business tariff consuming less than 160 MWh of electricity per year; or have an Australia-wide grouped payroll of less than $1.5 million in 2023-24
- not be a home-based business
- not be a public company
- own or lease the premises where work or goods will be installed or used
- be able to provide matched funding of at least 50 per cent of eligible costs.
What expenses are eligible?

Eligible expenses include solar panels but only if they are accompanied by battery storage. Other activities can include upgrading the energy efficiency of power generation, lighting, appliances and building upgrades.
Applications close on the 29th of November but may close earlier if funding is exhausted so get in early. Only one application can be made per ABN but multiple items can be applied for in one application. For more information visit this link
